Like this website? I built it.
This site was built from scratch, not assembled from a template. Every page is hand-coded to load fast, read properly on a phone, and be found on Google. If your business needs the same, that is work I take on.

Live client sites
Paid work for real businesses, running at their own address today. The concept builds further down are clearly marked as such and kept out of this section on purpose.
Monarca Services
Seasonal garden bed cleanup in Sandpoint. Built around one action, getting an estimate without having to phone anybody, with a photo-first contact route for people who would rather text.
Visit the live site →Four concept builds below: a salon, an HVAC company, an auto shop and a restaurant.
What it costs
Priced up front. You get a fixed number before I start, not an hourly meter.
Starter Site
Up to five pages. Who you are, what you do, photos of your work, and a contact form that actually reaches you. Reads properly on a phone, which is where most people will find you.
Bigger Build
More pages, photo galleries by job, service breakdowns, and the search setup that gets you found: structured data, sitemap, Google Search Console. For businesses with more to show than five pages holds.
Online Shop
Products, a cart, categories and filters, product photos people can open full size. What the shop on this site does. Priced per job because no two are the same.
Domain pricing assumes a standard, available name. I confirm the exact cost with you before anything is purchased.
What the $250 assumes
An ordinary available name, such as a .com, which runs about $50 for three years. Short or in-demand names, and endings like .io or .ai, cost more. Registrars set those prices, not me.
Renewal costs more than the first term
Registrars discount the first registration. On the monthly plan, renewal at standard rates is covered and you never see a bill. Standard means up to about $25 a year, and anything above that is passed on at cost with no markup.
You will not be surprised
I check what your preferred name actually costs and give you the exact figure before anything is bought. Nothing is purchased without your approval. If it is expensive, I will say so and help you find one that is not.
Concept builds
These are not clients. Each one is a fictional business I invented and built from scratch, to show what this work looks like across different trades. Different typography, layout and tone in every one, because a restaurant and an auto shop should not get the same website.
Verrow Salon
A hair salon in Sandpoint. One narrow column, hairline rules and almost no color, built to show that restraint reads as expensive: a typeset price list instead of cards, and a booking request instead of a call button.

Comfort Solutions HVAC
Heating and cooling service and repair in North Idaho. Built around the call that comes at 2am: the emergency number is the loudest thing on the page, and booking, reviews, service area and financing all sit within one screen of it.
Open the concept →
Torvald Auto Service
An auto repair site built around up front pricing, an appointment request that captures the vehicle and the symptom, financing and warranty.

Sablefir Supper House
A wood-fired restaurant in North Idaho. Editorial typography and full-bleed photography, built around the two things a diner is actually looking for: the menu, and a table.
Open the concept →Hosting and upkeep: $30 a month, optional
Only if you want me to host it. One price covers everything that keeps a website alive, instead of three separate bills.
Your domain
Registered and renewed at standard rates, in your name, not mine. Premium names that renew for more are passed on at cost.
Hosting
The server your site lives on, with the security certificate that puts the padlock in the address bar.
Backups and updates
Backed up daily and kept patched. If something breaks, it gets put back.
Content changes
New prices, new hours, new photos, changed text. Send them over and they go up.
$30/month
Everything above included. Optional, and you can cancel any time.
You are not locked into anything. The monthly is for hosting and upkeep, not for the website itself. Prefer to host it somewhere else, or already pay for hosting you like? Say so and I will hand over the finished site files and help get them running wherever you want them. No monthly, no hard feelings, and you can come back later if looking after it yourself turns out to be more hassle than $30.
You paid for the build, so the site is yours the moment it is finished.
Who you are actually paying
A website is three separate things, and it is worth knowing which is which before you buy one.
| What | What it is | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| The build | Designing and building the site itself. Paid once, and then it is yours. | From $199 one time |
| Domain name | Your address on the internet, like yourbusiness.com. Only if you do not already have one. Registered for three years up front so it is not a bill you forget. | About $50 for three years |
| Hosting and upkeep | The server that stores your site and serves it to visitors, plus backups, security and content changes. Optional, and only if you want me to handle it. | $30 a month |
You own it. The domain is registered in your name, on your business. If you ever want to take the site somewhere else, or hand it to someone else, everything goes with you and I will help you move it.
Nobody should be able to hold your website hostage, including me.
Already have a domain? Bring it and the build starts at $199, with nothing to buy. Already have hosting? I will build to whatever you are already paying for.
How it works
Small operation, so it runs on a schedule. That is what keeps the price where it is.
-
We talk
What your business does, who you need to reach, and what you want the site to make happen. Free, and no obligation.
-
You get a number
A fixed price and a page count in writing before anything starts. No hourly surprises.
-
I build it
You see it before it goes live. Two rounds of changes are included; beyond that is $75 an hour so it stays fair to us both.
-
It stays maintained
Changes go live on Fridays. Send them any time during the week and they are up by the weekend.
Why Fridays? Because this is one person, not a call centre. Batching updates into one day a week is what lets the monthly stay at $30 instead of $150. Something actually broken gets fixed the same day, not on Friday.
Which one do you need?
A website tells people you exist. Software runs the business behind it. I build both, so the answer is not always the same one.
You need customers to find you.
Trades, shops, farms and small operators who need to be found on Google, look legitimate, and be easy to contact. People who would rather pay once and have it handled than wrestle with a website builder on a Sunday night.
See what that costs →You need something to run the business.
Logins, customer accounts, booking and scheduling, inventory, invoicing. That is not a website, that is software, and it is the other half of what I do. PrecisionOps is a full field-service platform I built and support myself.

Common questions
How much does a small business website cost?
A starter site of up to five pages is from $199, paid once. If you do not have a domain yet, three years of registration is about $50 on top. Hosting and upkeep is $30 a month and is optional. Bigger builds are quoted at a fixed price after we talk, never by the hour.
What does the $30 a month cover, and do I have to pay it?
It covers the hosting, the security certificate, daily backups, patching, and content changes such as new prices, hours or photos. It is optional and cancellable at any time. It pays for keeping the site running, not for the site itself, so leaving does not cost you the website. If you would rather host it elsewhere, you get the finished files and help getting them running.
Do I own the website and the domain?
Yes. The domain is registered in your name and your business, not mine, and the site is yours the moment it is finished because you paid for the build. If you ever want to move it or hand it to somebody else, everything goes with you and you get help moving it. Nobody should be able to hold your website hostage, including me.
Do you build on WordPress, Wix or Squarespace?
No. Sites are hand-coded from scratch, which is why they load quickly and why there is no template subscription underneath them. There is no builder to log into and fight with, and no monthly fee to a platform that owns your pages. This site is an example of the same build.
How do changes work once the site is live?
Send them any time during the week and they go live on Friday. Batching updates into one day is what keeps the monthly at $30 instead of $150, because this is one person rather than a call centre. Anything actually broken gets fixed the same day rather than waiting for Friday.
Do you build websites for businesses outside North Idaho?
Yes. Nothing about building a website needs anyone in the room, so this work is taken on remotely and the price does not change with distance. Local clients in Kootenai and Bonner Counties get an in-person sit-down simply because it is easier to arrange.
Want one?
Tell me what your business does and what you want the site to do. I will tell you straight whether I am the right person for it, and what it would cost.
